Below are links to the 2009 fantasy baseball player rankings for major league baseball players (full projections not yet available). The rankings are based on projected statistics for the 2009 season. The player rankings were determined for a typical 5 X 5 rotisserie league for batting average, runs, runs batted in, home runs and stolen bases for hitters and wins, saves, ERA, WHIP and strikeouts for pitchers. Final Spring Training update April 4, 2009
Catcher First Base Second Base Shortstop Third Base OF (1-90) OF (91-180) DH Starting Pitcher (1-100) Starting Pitcher (101-200) Relief Pitchers (1-100) Relief Pitchers (101-200)
General comment about Overall, NL only and AL only Player Rankings: It is quite obvious that Sport Fanatics ranks catchers and relief pitchers (closers) lower than their expected draft position. The reason for this is the Sport Fanatics rankings only look at fantasy points to determine the overall rankings, Sport Fanatics do not consider position scarcity and do not adjust for one category specialists (saves and/or stolen bases) to determine their rankings. The rankings are to be used as a guide only as you should adjust the rankings based on your league rules, position requirements, etc.
